“You are also joining to help us when you pray for us.” II Cor 1:11 (GWT)
This past weekend, I met so many wonderful people from many walks of life. I have heard stories of answers to prayer. I have heard enthusiasm for the way God has led people who are involved in praying. It was such a boost to meet these folks and share with them.
I think that sometimes, many Christians feel that prayer is just one of those things you should do when you have the time. Its a little ritual — like saying grace before a meal or an obligatory prayer in a worship service. Not really meaningful but a thing that is done along with the Lord’s Table or propping a preacher up behind a pulpit for a thirty minute monologue. It is something “to be done” but somehow slips between the cracks!
I appreciate it when people pray for me and I take it seriously when someone asks me to pray for them. Yes, there are times when I don’t feel like it, have the time or try to rush through it because I have other things to do. And I should pay more attention when I speak to my Father because He might have something to say to me!
We join one another when we pray for one another. And God hears His people.
Go ahead, say a prayer right now. I will, too!
