“People do things without knowing why and then they try and find
out!” Joseph Heller.

I still can’t understand what happened. A pastor’s wife ran off with
a Hindu man, much younger than herself, and she abandoned her
husband, children and her marriage vows. When asked, she said that
she really didn’t know except that she wanted something different! To
me, this reasoning is kind of radical but for her, it made some kind
of sense. I supposed that I will never fully understand what happened.

Without a guiding Light in our lives, we become prey to such a
variety of philosophies, ideas, pressures and internal machinations.
Christ provides stability, growth and the riches of His grace to all
His faithful believers. We don’t have to be victims of charlatans,
strange social customs or family pressures. We don’t have to become
bewildered of whether a certain behavior is a sin or not. We can have
confidence and total assurance that Christ is the Way, the Truth and
the Life.

Since the beginning of time, sin has always been the same. Whether
our great-great grandparents came over on the boat from Europe or
whether our great-great grandchildren live in Mexifornia in another
hundred years, sin is the same. No matter where we live or what
culture we live within, God’s condemnation of evil is the same.

And, His righteousness is the same, too! It is clear and exact!

I don’t know about you but that sure takes a lot of my shoulders even
if I don’t understand the behavior of the pastor’s ex-wife.

Steve
