“But a person may stumble when he walks at night because he has no light.” John 11:10 (Simple English Bible)
I thought I heard a noise the other night. Carefully, I crept out of the bedroom door with my baseball bat. Scurrying sounds down the hallway altered me to the fact that one of my cats had caught a plaything and brought it back into the house. Instead of turning on the light, I rushed down the hall and stubbed my toe on the wall. It was excruciating and brought tears to my eyes. I sat down on the cold floor, nursing my digit and made a decision: when the pain subsided, I was going to kill the cat. Of course, by the time I could stand and limp, I realized that it wasn’t the cat’s fault but my own stupidity.
I believe it is the same in the world. We’re rush forward to accomplish goals, make plans and decide where to go. The world has moved all the furniture and kept our vision dimmed. Immorality and evilness lurk in the darkest places. And when we stub out spiritual toes, it isn’t the world’s fault but only our own. We know where the Light is. We know what the Truth is. We can access the Light anytime, anywhere, under any conditions.
Why scream and rail at the world, which prefers the darkness?
We’re here to bring the Light anyway! Right?
Steve
