“There is no shortcut to life — to the end of our days, life is a lesson imperfectly learned.” A wise man.
Timmy was a deflated. All he ever dreamed of in life, never came to his door. He was constantly on the move, jiggling and diving, hard to pin down on anything. He didn’t want to get married because that tied him down. He didn’t want to participate in the congregation because it was too confining. Timmy made sure he was ready when his ship would finally arrive, loaded with his dreams. He played the lottery, gambled when he had money and lived large when he had a job. When his chronometer hit 50, Timmy became depressed. If his dreams didn’t happen right then, when would it?
Gary Player, the champion South African golfer, once said about his luck on the golf course, “The more I practice, the luckier I get!” Life isn’t going to bring us very much. It’s good to be expectant and ready but it is better to work hard and allow our Father to bless us, according to His will. Life is too short to wait! Our hope is always in Christ, our dream is Heaven and our tasks set before us. To shirk our destiny is to deny our faith and expose us to the world’s machinations.
Yes, we will make mistakes but also, our Father forgives us for them, even if people don’t!
Let’s all keep the same dream: no matter what happens, let’s all make it to Heaven!
Steve
