A pastor recently told me that society has lost the plot completely on human morality and sexuality. He pointed out that with each step away from God’s truth and light, politicians, self-interest groups and lawmakers are actively undermining Christian values. It’s almost okay to promote, engage and encourage any kind of sexual activity outside marriage. No one cares anymore and those who continue to believe in God are the ones who are on the fringe!
At first, I thought my friend’s statements were a little unrealistic. But then, I read a few chapters in Genesis describing Sodom and Gomorrah and I think we’ve come full circle, yet again. Without truth, there can be no morality. Without the light, there is only darkness. Those who don’t care about God’s Word or His people are truly lost buy they aren’t concerned as long as everybody goes along with them.
I don’t believe it will be any easier for Christians in the coming years. I think believers will be increasingly ostracized and mocked. And I can see more people being sucked into worldly thinking and values.But this should never deter us. It is our faith which will see us through everything.
Keep the Truth in your heart and walk in the Light! It is our salvation!
