“What if there were no tomorrow? There wasn’t one today!” Bill Murray in “Groundhog Day”.
The entire premise of the movie was interesting: one day repeating itself over and over but only one man (Bill Murray) was aware of it. I quite enjoyed the film and it has since become a cult classic.
The fact of the matter is that we don’t have a tomorrow, not for anybody. We make plans and anticipate what will happen in the next few days, the weekend or for a future special event like birthdays, anniversaries, appointments and holidays. We intend to make the most of our time and have scheduled accordingly. This makes us comfortable and empowers us to feel as if we are in control of our lives.
Yet, we all know that there might be no tomorrow. I wish everyone a long and prosperous life in the Lord. I would want each and every Christian to live up to their potential each and every day. But one day, unexpectedly, our names will be called and we will find ourselves standing before the Throne. At times, we will answer for all the tomorrows that God had blessed us with in this life.
So, I think it would be wise that we all prepared for that tomorrow.
Steve
